Brenner Heights Creek

Brenner Heights Creek MapBrenner Creek is rather small Creek that exists entirely in Kansas City, Kansas. It originates near Leavenworth Road (K-5) and North 56th Street. From here the creek flows south through residential areas until it reaches State Avenue. At this point it heads southeast until going under I-70 and entering the Kansas River.

The Urban Monitoring Network has three sites on Brenner Creek. The most downstream site (Site 1) is located at Muncie Drive and North 5th Street, just north of I-70. The middle site (Site 2) is located further upstream just west of a cul-de-sac at the intersection of Freeman and North 61st Terrace. The furthest upstream site (Site 3) is located on the southern side of Parallel Parkway, to the east and upstream of a Service Station.

Urban land use (developed) for the watersheds above each monitoring site is 76.9%, 87.0% and 91.3% for the lower, middle and upper watersheds, respectively. Percent impervious cover for the lower, middle and upper watersheds, is 18.8%, 20.0% and 19.9%, respectively.
